guys .. I DID IT!!!!!!1 i got to see SlipKnoT!

on wednesday, march 11th, 2009, at about 3:43PM, two of my friends & i got picked up by my mom, & we drove up to sacramento. after being dropped off at the arena, & seeing fucking seas of people, i called one of my friends that was already there & he told us to come to the front of the line to meet him & some maggots from OT9. it was awesome/weird, cuz half of the people in the front of the line knew who i was, from the site. X] then the doors opened, & i got a front spot at the barrier with a bunch of awesome people. we chilled for a while, just sitting on the ground & talking. then security told us we could get up & everyone jumped up & pushed towards the front.
Trivium opened. i didn't really like them before but seeing them live made me LOVE them. i even got to touch Matt Heafy, cuz he ran up to the barrier & .. let us touch him. X] THey plaed some awesome shit, half of which i didn't know at all. all i know is that it was AMAZING. they played Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr .. which was awesome.
Coheed & Cambria was next. they're kinda .. ehh. but they opened with Welcome Home, which so far is the only song i know by them .. & i think it's ok. the best part of that band is Claudio's hair. it's .. incredible. XD it was so funny; their backdrop was a dude with a cut throat & it said "GOD WILL NOT SAVE YOU". so they were setting up before the band got on, & we hear this huge crash. about three amps had fallen over. & some guy goes "well, i guess god didn't save those amps .." XD it was priceless.
after Coheed .. we waited. & waited. & tried to breathe. i swear, people were pushing like the show had already started. my friend had to get out bwfore the show even started. but she got water .. unfair. but i stayed. unfortunately, i kept getting pushed back from my front spot by people much bigger than me, so i went back to about the fifth row. :[
but then SlipKnoT came on. the curtain opened to Iowa [my favorite song by them EVER] & they were just standing there, looking epic. but since i'm only 5'8" & the people around me were about 6'1", i had a lot of trouble seeing & i was getting trampled.
they started in on (Sic), & people fucking EXPLODED. the whole enite floor was a fucking mosh pit. people were fallign all over each other; NO ONE could keep their footing. next was Eyeless, which was one of the first songs i heard by them. next was Wait & Bleed, then Get This. unfortunately, by this point, i couldn't breathe & i felt like i was gonna faint, so i yelled "UP!" & up i went, over the barrier. lost my front spot. never got it back.
i walked along the side of the pit & saw a motherly looking woman holding a bottle of water. i asked if i could have some, & she said i could have the whole thing .. i guess i looked pretty thirsty. i said thank you, downed the bottle in one gulp, & ran headlong back into the pit.
i don't really remember the song lineup after that, but i know they played Before I Forget, Psychosocial, Dead Memories, The Blister Exists, Purity [that was fucking awesome], Left Behind, Duality, & Everything Ends.
they closed with three songs: People = Shit [which during which was my second time getting over the barrier. i got crowd-surfed over, & Chris was standing right there on the side of the stage, being awesome. so i threw him the horns as i was being ushered out by security, & he gave me a thumbs up. ], Surfacing [epic], & Spit It Out [they did the whole "jumpthefuckup" thing. it was amazing.].
throughout the whole show, i hit about 10 mosh pits, crowd-surfed more than 5 times, & got over the barrier twice. one time, i got in this crazy pit with all of these crazy huge dudes you didn't give a fuck, & i lasted about a minute before i got knocked clean off my feet & skidded two feet. & i got pretty banged up from beng dropped & punched & shit, but i had an awesome fucking time. great show. :]
